How It Works

Weather Forecast Display

Sergio displays a 14-day weather forecast directly on your scheduling calendar:

  • Weather icons appear on each calendar day
  • Hover over icons to see detailed forecasts
  • Rain probability, temperature, and wind speed included
  • Color-coded warnings for severe weather

Proactive Weather Alerts

Get notified when weather might affect your scheduled jobs:

  1. System monitors forecasts for upcoming jobs
  2. You receive alerts 48-72 hours before bad weather
  3. Review affected jobs in one convenient list
  4. Reschedule with a few clicks before it is too late

Setup

Enable Weather Notifications

  1. Go to Settings -> Notifications
  2. Find the Weather Alerts section
  3. Toggle on 'Weather Warnings'
  4. Choose your alert threshold (e.g., 50% rain chance)
  5. Select notification method (email, push, or both)

Configure Service Area

  1. Go to Settings -> Service Area
  2. Enter your primary service location
  3. Weather data will be fetched for this location
  4. For larger service areas, weather is checked per job address

Recommended Workflow

Proactive Rescheduling Approach

Recommended Weekly Workflow

  1. Sunday evening: Review the week ahead and check weather forecast
  2. Monday morning: Identify any weather risks for the week
  3. Same day: Call/text affected customers to reschedule
  4. Reschedule: Move jobs to better weather days when possible
  5. Result: Customers appreciate proactive communication over last-minute cancellations

Bulk Rescheduling

When bad weather affects multiple jobs:

  1. Go to your calendar
  2. Click the weather-affected day
  3. Select all outdoor jobs
  4. Click 'Bulk Reschedule'
  5. Choose a new date with good weather
  6. Customers are notified automatically

Best Practices

Customer Communication Tips

  • Be proactive: Reschedule before bad weather, not during
  • Offer alternatives: Suggest 2-3 alternative dates when rescheduling
  • Set expectations: Let customers know you monitor weather for their benefit
  • Thank them: Express appreciation for their flexibility

When NOT to Reschedule

Not all weather requires rescheduling:

  • Light drizzle - often okay for exterior work
  • Overcast skies - actually good for window work (no streaks)
  • Cold but dry - bundle up and work efficiently
  • Light wind - usually manageable with care

ROI of Weather Planning

Without weather scheduling:

  • Last-minute cancellations frustrate customers
  • Wasted drive time to jobsites
  • Poor reviews from no-shows
  • Inconsistent revenue

With weather scheduling:

  • Proactive rescheduling impresses customers
  • Optimized schedules around weather windows
  • Better reviews from reliable service
  • Consistent, predictable revenue
